Kerala Congress (B) leader and former minister K B Ganeshkumar has sent in his resignation letter to party chairman and his father R Balakrishna Pillai on Tuesday. Ganesh was forced to resign his minister's post on April 1 after his wife filed a complaint against him alleging physical assault and mental torture.

What astonished everyone was that the resignation letter to quit MLA's post was not forwarded to the Assembly speaker. Ganesh had exchanged his resignation letter only to the party chairman and political analyst feel this is a pressure tactics being applied. There are also reports that though all allegations raised against him have subsided, there have been no moves to induct him as minister and this had annoyed him.

Ganesh was minister twice and on both the occasions he was forced to tender his resignations. It was in 2001 that Ganesh entered the Assembly for the first time. He was elected MLA thrice from Pathanampuram constituency.

If he tenders his resignation to the speaker of the Assembly and if the Speaker accepts it, then he loses his MLA's post.
