Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma (91), the last ruling monarch of the Kingdom of Travancore passed away today early morning at 2.20am.

He was admitted in the ICU due to his deteriorating health conditions on 6 December 2013. Though he showed some improvements in the middle,  he bid adieu to the world today early morning.

The cremation of the body will be conducted before sun set at the Kavadiyar Palace grounds today.
