CPM politburo member, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, has said that the Left front would lay a siege on the Chief Minister's upcoming public contact programmes.

Balakrishnan said that the mass contact programme of the CM was meant to deceive people. The move from the Left front came after they announced their displeasure over the terms of reference announced by the CM over the solar scam.

The CM is planning for the mass contact programme from October 18 and the Left said that it was determined to block the programme. The announcement of the government's mass contact programme came as the opposition were planning to lay siege to the Cliff House, the official residence of the CM, from November 14.

Commenting on the opposition's plan, the CM had said that those who oppose the mass contact programme were in fact derailing benefits to the people. He said that the government had received about 1.5 lakh complaints to be resolved through the programme, which was aimed to provide comprehensive and speedy solutions to people's long standing problems.
