Atlanta Metro Malayalee Association (AMMA)Executive Committee has taken up the issue of discriminating Kerala from the International Hub list by the central aviation Ministry. A decision is taken to join other Expatriate Associations worldwide, and do whatever we can, to pressurize the appropriate authorities. A core committee under the leadership of Govindan Janardanan is formed to prepare and send memorandums to all concerned by post and email.

We appeal all the Kerala friends to take up this issue with any concerned authorities and support Kerala is neglected from the aviation international hub list in spite of the fact nearly 30 % of India’s expatriate community is from Kerala. The number of tourists to Kerala is increased in high volume every year.

If none of the airports are in the list we will miss out, fund allocation from aviation ministry for development. If any airport in Kerala become a hub, then only direct flights from Europe and US will be possible, if not we have to travel via Bombay or Chennai or any other hubs. We demand the concerned authorities to heed the voice of millions of Malayalee Expatriates and review their decision and raise the status of any one Kerala Airport to a main hub in India.
