The New Jersey Province of the World Malayalee Council that was established in 1995 held its General Body meeting and elected new office bearers for the period 2015-2016. The General Body was chaired by the Global Advisory Board Chairman Dr. Sreedhar Kavil and WMC founders Dr. George Jacob, Alex Vilanilam Koshy, Thomas V. Jacob and P T Chacko were observers of the election proceedings. Ms. Thangamani Aravindan, former Executive VP of National Association of Indian Nurses of America is the new President, Thomas V. Jacob is the Chairman, Gopinathan Nair and Dr. Elizabeth Mammon Prasad were the Vice chairman respectively. Other executives are Mr. Sudhir Nambiar, VP, Ms. Sofy Vilson, VP, Mr. Anil Puthenchira , General Secretary , Jinesh Thampi , Joint Secretory and Mr.Philip Maret, Treasurer and Roy Mathew Executive council members.

The General Body identified the following community leaders as members of the Advisory Board: Dr. George Jacob, Mr. Alex Vilanilam Koshy, Mr. Thomas Mottackal, Ms. Sheela Sreekumar and Ms. Rugmini Padmakumar. The year 2015 being the 20th anniversary year of WMC the celebration started by hosting the first Unity meeting of all associations of New Jersey .

Newly elected President Thangamani Aravindan stated that more community beneficial programs will be conducted in collaboration with other Malayali organizations of NJ and professionals as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations in the upcoming months.
