US based non-profit organization IISAC [International Institute for Scientific and Academic Collaboration, Inc.] that promotes global education with an excellent track record for sending American college students to India has now achieved recognition for Kerala University by a few leading US universities to send their college students to study in Kerala under ‘Study Abroad’ program. IISAC’s MOU has been approved by the syndicate of Kerala University for the Semester in Kerala program, informed Dr. Achuthsankar Nair, Coordinator of Study in Kerala program of Kerala University, and Ambassador TP Sreenivasan the Advisor to Govt of Kerala on Higher Education.

IISAC is headed by a team of professionals like Dr. Ngan Huang of Stanford University, as Chairman, Dr. Sunny Luke (formerly with Columbia Univ, NY) as Program Director and Alex Vilanilam Koshy of New Jersey as Executive Director. IISAC’s India office that works with the approval of Govt. of India and Reserve Bank of India is coordinating the implementation of Study Abroad Program with the academics of Indian universities and that of the American universities. Since 1998 US students are attending Pondicherry university and from 2014 they can also attend full semesters in Kerala university and KIIT Odissa university to cover over three hundred courses. Introduction of the first ever produced book on Kerala in US universities by IISAC has kindled the interest of the US college students and faculty to learn more about Kerala, informed Executive Director of IISAC Mr. Alex Vilanilam Koshy.

15 students from different American universities will go to Kerala University in Jan 2014, announced Alex Vilanilam at the India Press Club Conference concluded on Nov 2nd in New Jersey. He also informed, if the program is properly implanted by the university with adequate student security, more American and European universities will send their students to Kerala on study abroad programs. This will be a stepping stone for Kerala university can collaborate with American universities for faculty exchange programs and attract substantial international financial grants, informed Dr. Sunny Luke, one of the founders of IISAC, the non profit organization promoting global education.
