ആറ് വയസുള്ള ഏവ, നാലു വയസുള്ള ഒലിവിയ എന്നിവരാണു പുത്രിമാര്. ഡോ. ജോയ്‌സി ജേക്കബ് (ഭര്ത്താവ് റോണ് ജേക്കബ്), അറ്റോര്ണിയായബേസില് ജോയ് എന്നിവരാണു സഹോദരര്. മുത്തശി മറിയാമ്മ ഏബ്രഹാം ജീവിച്ചിരിപ്പുണ്ട്.എഴുത്തുകാരനായ വര്ഗീസ് പോത്താനിക്കാടും ഏബ്രഹാമും മാത്രുസഹോദരരാണ്.

സുനി ഫാര്മിംഗ്‌ഡേലില് നിന്നു നഴ്‌സിംഗ് ബിരുദമെടുത്ത ജെസിക്ക ബെത്ത്‌പേജ് സെന്റ് ജോസഫ്'സ് ഹോസ്പിറ്റലില് ആര്.എന്. ആയിരുന്നു. സെന്റ് മേരീസ് ഓര്ത്തഡോക്‌സ് ചര്ച്ച്, വൈറ്റ് പ്ലെയിന്സ്, സെന്റ് മേരീസ് ഓര്ത്തഡോക്‌സ് ചര്ച്ച്, ബ്രോങ്ക്‌സ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില് സജീവ പ്രവര്ത്തകയും യൂത്ത് ലീഡറുമായിരുന്നു

Jessica Mary Philip

February 8, 1983 – March 31, 2018

Jessica Mary Philip, born on February 8, 1983, was the daughter of Joy T. Peter and Valsa Joy (Thamarachalil House, Kolenchery, Kerala, India).  She was one of three siblings and the granddaughter of the late Rev. Father T.I. Pathrose, the late Saramma Peter, the late Ittiyavirah Abraham, and Mariyamma Abraham. Jessica was born in Kolenchery and was raised there by her grandparents for a year, until she was brought to New York. 

Growing up in Queens and as a young woman in New Hyde Park, Jessica always brought life, love, and laughter wherever she went.  After graduating from New Hyde Park Memorial High School, Jessica received her nursing degree from SUNY Farmingdale and went on to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Bethpage, NY. During this time, she met the love of her life, Jaison. They were married on July 24, 2011, and later moved to Plainview,NY

Jessica was an amazing wife and mother of two beautiful girls, Ava and Olivia.  She was a second mother to her niece, Rachel, to her nephews, Nicholas, Dylan, and Lucas, and to the children of her extended family and friends. Jessica’s love for children was her defining quality.  As a beloved member of two churches, St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in White Plains and later St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in the Bronx, Jessica was always a role model for the youth around her.  As an adult, she made it her life's purpose to ensure all children were taken care of.

We will always remember Jessica’s sense of humor, her compassion, and her relentless strength.  She was selfless, warm, and caring, always putting the needs of others above her own. With a single smile, Jessica brought light to the darkest of days and with gentle words she gifted courage to those around her.  With every beat of her heart, she fought for her family and lifted them up until the end.

Jessica returned to the Lord on March 31, 2018, passing peacefully, surrounded by family, after a twenty-month battle against breast cancer. The legacy of love that Jessica has left behind is carried on by her husband, Jaison, and her daughters Ava and Olivia. She is also survived by her grandmother, Mariyamma, her parents, Joy, Valsa, Babu, Podiamma, Varghese Pothanicad and Abraham (uncles), Sosamma and Lilly (aunts), her siblings, Joycee, Basil, Ron, Janet, and John, her niece and nephews, and many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
